Mavericks' Khris Middleton: Sees 21 minutes in loss
Middleton contributed eight points (3-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound and one assist across 21 minutes during Thursday's 124-104 loss to the Lakers.
Since joining Dallas, Middleton has seen a very modest role on the wings. Through two appearances, he's averaging 21.5 minutes with 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists. It's hard to imagine his minutes trending up much after the All-Star break.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Returns to action
Thompson provided nine points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes during Thursday's 124-104 loss to the Lakers.
After getting a day of rest Tuesday, Thompson was back in his usual role Thursday. The Mavericks likely won't be playing for much down the stretch, so it's really hard to get excited about Thompson's outlook.

Mavericks' Brandon Williams: Productive in Thursday's start
Williams produced 17 points (6-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Thursday's 124-104 loss to the Lakers.
Getting his first start since Jan. 17 with Cooper Flagg (foot) in street clothes, Williams posted his highest assist total since Dec. 5 while scoring in double digits for the seventh time in the last eight games. Over that span, the fourth-year guard is averaging 15.5 points, 3.8 assists, 3.1 boards and 0.8 threes in 21.9 minutes.

Mavericks' Max Christie: Drops 19 in loss to Lakers
Christie finished Thursday's 124-104 loss to the Lakers with 19 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound, four assists and one steal in 30 minutes.
The 19 points tied Naji Marshall (foot) for the team scoring lead. Christie heads into the All-Star break having scored in double digits in 10 of the last 12 games while averaging 16.4 points, 3.2 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.8 threes and 0.8 steals, but it remains to be seen what his role and usage will be once Kyrie Irving (knee) gets cleared to make his season debut.

Mavericks' Daniel Gafford: Departs with ankle soreness
Gafford won't return to Thursday's game against the Lakers due to right ankle soreness. He tallied two points (1-2 FG), six rebounds, one assist and one block in 28 minutes.
Gafford was ruled out late in the fourth quarter with the game already decided, so his absence shouldn't have much of an impact on his team's rotation. The 27-year-old will have over a week to rest going into the All-Star break, with his next chance to take the court arriving Feb. 20 in Minnesota.

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Exits with foot injury
Marshall has been ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Lakers due to a left foot strain. He collected 19 points (8-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two steals in 29 minutes.
Marshall was dealing with a left foot issue heading into Thursday's game, so it appears he may have aggravated the injury. Fortunately, the Mavs don't play again until Feb. 20, leaving him ample time to rest up.

Mavericks' Brandon Williams: Joining starting lineup
Williams is starting Thursday's game against the Lakers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Mavericks' Caleb Martin: Out vs. LAL
Martin has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Lakers.
Martin will miss his first game since Dec. 20 due to a left ankle sprain. He'll need to wait until after the All-Star break to make his return, which should provide ample time to make a full recovery.

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Good to go Thursday
Marshall (foot) is available for Thursday's game against the Lakers.
Marshall was upgraded to probable a few hours before tipoff, and the team has since announced that he'll suit up Thursday evening. The Xavier product is averaging 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his last five matchups.

Mavericks' Caleb Martin: Downgraded to doubtful
Martin is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Lakers due to a left ankle sprain.
Martin had been in position for an amplified role in the absence of Cooper Flagg (foot), but now the former is unlikely to play Thursday. With the Mavericks shorthanded ahead of the All-Star break, Klay Thompson and Khris Middleton both should be able to work their way into the streaming mix.

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Trending in right direction
Marshall (foot) is probable for Thursday's game against the Lakers.
Marshall was initially added to the injury report as questionable due to a left foot strain, but it's looking like he'll be cleared to take the court in his team's final game before the All-Star break. Expect official word from the Mavs closer to tipoff.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Sitting out Thursday
Flagg (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Lakers.
Dallas had initially listed Flagg as doubtful for Thursday's contest, but he's now officially on track to sit out against the Lakers while he recovers from a left midfoot sprain. According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com, Flagg will also be held out of Friday's Rising Stars Game at All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, but the expectation is that he'll be ready to play when Dallas opens its second-half schedule Feb. 20 versus the Timberwolves.

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Officially available Thursday
Thompson (rest) isn't listed on the injury report for Thursday's game against the Lakers.
Thompson got the night off Tuesday for rest purposes and, as expected, he'll be back in action for Thursday's matchup with the Lakers. Cooper Flagg (foot) is doubtful and both Naji Marshall (foot) and Caleb Martin (ankle) are questionable, which means Thompson could be thrust into a larger role Thursday.

Mavericks' Caleb Martin: Questionable for Thursday
Martin is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Lakers due to a left ankle sprain.
Martin tweaked his ankle during Tuesday's loss to the Suns and is now in danger of missing the Mavericks' final game before the All-Star break. If Martin can't play, Max Christie and Khris Middleton could see an uptick in minutes.
