Two Western Conference foes looking to make strong moves up the standings meet Friday night when the Warriors host the Timberwolves. Minnesota is 15-9 and is coming off a narrow loss to Phoenix, while Golden State enters Friday on a two-game win streak to move to 13-12 on the year. This is the first of four meetings between the Timberwolves and Warriors, and Golden State dominated this matchup last regular season by taking three of four, but Minnesota got the last laugh by beating the Warriors 4-1 in the second round of the playoffs. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every NBA game 10,000 times, likes Over 227.5 as its top play for this game, as that side of the total hits in nearly 60% of model simulations.

After a whopping 13-game slate on Thursday, just four teams will take the ice across two games on Friday in the NHL. One of those matchups comes in the Western Conference when the Kraken head to Utah for a battle with the Mammoth. These teams both started the year out well and looked positioned to potentially make the postseason. However, both Seattle and Utah have cooled off tremendously of late, with the Mammoth entering Friday on a three game losing streak and a 3-7-0 mark over their last 10 games, while Seattle is 3-6-1 over its last 10 games and just snapped a six-game losing streak with a win over Los Angeles on Wednesday. The Mammoth won two of the three matchups between these teams last season.
