UFC Fight Night betting preview
Brandon Moreno has a significant experience advantage over Lone'er Kavanagh, however, the 26-year-old Kavanagh is six years younger than Moreno (32). Moreno enters 23-9-2, including 11-6-2 in 19 UFC fights. Kavanagh is 9-1, including 2-1 in the UFC. Kavanagh is coming off his first career loss, though, falling to Charles Johnson by TKO in August. Moreno is also coming off a loss, falling to Tatsuro Taira by TKO at UFC 323 in December. Moreno was originally scheduled to fight Asu Almabayev before the 32-year-old withdrew due to an arm injury.
All six fights on the main card feature a Mexican fighter competing in their home nation. The fight before Moreno vs. Kavanagh features a top-10 bantamweight bout with No. 9-ranked Marlon Vera vs. 10th-ranked David Martinez, who is from Mexico, in the co-main event. Martinez, 27, is 13-1 overall and 2-0 in the UFC, while Vera, 33, is 23-11-1 and 15-10 in the UFC. Vera has lost three straight fights, though, and after Saturday, Vera will have fought more bantamweight contests (23) than anyone in UFC history. He'd tie Aljamain Sterling for the most wins in the division (14) with a victory.
