Thursday NBA betting preview

The Denver Nuggets host the Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. ET for the chance for fans to witness some of the NBA's top talents, such as LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. These two teams are fighting for postseason positioning and to stay out of the Play-In Tournament as well, with the Nuggets fifth at 38-24 and the Lakers sixth at 37-24 in the West. The Lakers won, 115-107, in Denver on Jan. 20 in their only meeting this season, but Nikola Jokic was out. These two franchises have met in recent postseasons, with Denver advancing in the 2023 and 2024 Western Conference playoffs.

Thursday college basketball betting preview

Thursday features a pair of ranked Big Ten games in action, with Iowa hosting No. 3 Michigan and No. 8 Michigan State hosting Rutgers, Both games are at 8 p.m. ET. Michigan (27-2, 17-1 Big Ten) is coming off an 84-70 win at No. 10 Illinois on Friday, while Iowa (20-9, 10-8) is coming off a 71-69 loss at Penn State on Saturday. Michigan recently fell from No. 1 to No. 3 after its 68-63 neutral-site loss to Duke on Feb. 21, but the Wolverines, led by a huge frontcourt, have won back-to-back games. These teams have split their last four meetings, with each team winning on the other's court. For college basketball betting, Michigan is favored by 9.5 points in the latest Thursday college basketball odds at FanDuel. 

Michigan State (24-5, 14-4) holds a significant talent edge on paper over Rutgers (12-17, 5-13 Big Ten). The Spartans have also won four straight, while Rutgers is 2-2 over its last four contests.
