Thursday NBA betting preview

The Thursday NBA slate is highlighted by the two teams many expected to meet in last year's NBA Finals, and who could be on a path to meet to decide this year's champion. The Oklahoma City Thunder host the Boston Celtics at 9:30 p.m. ET, with the Thunder entering at an NBA-best 51-15 this season, and the Celtics second in the Eastern Conference at 43-22. Jayson Tatum has played three straight games since making his Celtics' season debut following his torn Achilles from last year's postseason, but he's questionable for Thursday. Boston is 2-1 in his return, and Tatum has increased his scoring in all three games. He scored 24 points on Tuesday against the Spurs. The Thunder have won six straight and nine of 10 behind the stellar play of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Also on Thursday, the Detroit Pistons host the Philadelphia 76ers in an Eastern Conference clash. The Pistons (46-18) are the only team in the East with a better record than Boston, and the 76ers are eighth in the East at 35-30. Injuries have hampered Philly lately, as Joel Embiid (oblique) and Tyrese Maxey (finger) are both out. The 76ers are 2-4 over their last six games. Thursday college basketball betting preview

Conference tournament play continues on Thursday, with contests throughout the day in leagues big and small. Top-ranked Duke plays Florida State in the ACC tournament quarterfinals at 7 p.m. ET as the Blue Devils look to secure the No. 1 overall seed for the 2026 NCAA Tournament this weekend. After Duke vs. Florida State, No. 19 North Carolina plays Clemson at 9:30 p.m. ET in an ACC tournament doubleheader. 

For college basketball betting, Duke is favored by 17.5 points, while North Carolina is a 1.5-point favorite.
