The Dallas Mavericks will try to beat the Denver Nuggets for a third time this season when the teams meet at American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night. The Mavericks (15-25) have been on a bit of an upswing winning three of their past five, but they are expected to be without Anthony Davis for the foreseeable future. Davis, who has missed half the team's games this season, is expected to have hand surgery and be out into the NBA postseason, and he could be traded before then. That means rookie Cooper Flagg will become the cornerstone of this roster, and he has appeared up to the task. The Nuggets (27-13) beat the New Orleans Pelicans 122-116 on Tuesday behind 35 points from Jamal Murray for their fourth victory in five games. Murray has had to take on an even larger role lately with Nuggets star Nikola Jokic out, possibly into next month, with a knee injury.

The Nuggets vs. Mavericks matchup Wednesday tips off at 9:30 p.m. ET in Dallas. The Mavericks are 1.5-point favorites in the latest Mavericks vs. Nuggets odds, and the Over/Under for total points set at 225.5. The Mavericks are -117 money-line favorites, with Denver priced at -102.

Flagg contributed in every area while scoring a game-high 27 points in a 113-105 victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, and he will be the focal point for Dallas moving forward. The Nuggets have needed guys to step up and help Murray, who played Tuesday despite being listed as questionable. While the game will be missing some stars, Mavericks vs. Nuggets features plenty of strong options to build a same-game parlay at DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday.

Nuggets vs. Mavericks NBA same-game parlay picks

  • Over 225.5
  • Cooper Flagg Under 35.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds
  • Peyton Watson Over 19.5 Points

Over 225.5

The Nuggets are 25-15 to the Over and come in off a game where the teams combined for 238 points. Dallas is 17-23 on Overs but has gone past this number in two of its last three games. The model has this total getting close to 240 points, with the Over hitting 67.1% of the time. The Nuggets are the highest-scoring team in the NBA (122.7 points per game) and allow 117.5 points per contest (20th). Dallas gives up 116.8 points per game, 19th in the league.

Cooper Flagg Under 35.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds

Flagg has been doing it all and will be asked to do more with Davis out indefinitely, but the SportsLine model's props simulations project him for 32.2 PRA. Flagg is the team's leading scorer with Davis out, averaging 19.1 points, and he chips in 6.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest. That's an average below 30 PRA and the Mavs like to spread the ball around. Excluding Davis, Dallas has seven players who average double figures in scoring.

Peyton Watson Over 19.5 Points

Watson is averaging 23.5 points over his past five games and has topped this number is seven of the past eight. The last time he failed to top 19 was the game where Jokic suffered his knee injury. The 2022 first-round pick has clearly taken on a much larger role in the offense. Watson has at least six rebounds in five straight and four assists or more in four of the past five, so betting the Over on any combination of his points, rebounds and assists is also in play.
