Gennady Golovkin will defend his unified middleweight titles against Daniel Jacobs on March 18 on HBO PPV at Madison Square Garden in New York.
To get used to his surroundings at MSG, GGG stopped in Monday night to take in a Knicks game as they took on the Pelicans. Before the game, Golovkin and young Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis met to exchange a signed glove for a signed jersey.
Porzingis, who is listed at 7-foot-3, makes Golovkin look like a child -- granted, a child that will knock you out -- standing next to him. I assume the conversation between the two was about being dominant forces in the world's most famous arena. Also of note, the jersey Golovkin is holding appears to be touching the floor, so it must be an authentic Porzingis jersey.
For his career, Porzingis is averaging 16.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in Madison Square Garden, while Golovkin has fought at the Garden four times previously -- twice in the main room and twice in the theater -- and has won all four by way of knockout.
