Abdur-Rahim's big first half leads to Georgia's 78-60 win over North Florida

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Jabri Abdur-Rahim hit all five of his 3-point attempts and scored all 18 of his points in the first half when Georgia took a 16-point lead and went on to a 78-60 victory over North Florida on Friday for the Bulldogs' seventh straight win.

Noah Thomasson added 10 points for Georgia (9-3), which shot 52% and made 11 of 20 3-point attempts.

Chaz Lanier scored 16 points, making 4 of 8 3-point tries, to lead the Ospreys (7-7), who shot 36% and put up 42 3-point attempts, making 12.

The Bulldogs trailed by eight when they went on an 17-0 run, including consecutive 3s from Abdur-Rahim. They scored the final nine points of the half, including another Abdur-Rahim 3, to lead 45-29 at halftime.

The Bulldogs kept a double-digit lead throughout the second half, taking their largest lead of 21 with seven minutes left on a 3-pointer by Silas Demary Jr.

The Ospreys came in averaging a nation-high 35 attempts and 12 makes from the arc. They hit four of their first six from long distance but made only one of their final 14 to end the half. North Florida extended its streak of making a 3-pointer to 823 games, dating to March 2, 1996.

The game matched brothers Dorian James of North Florida and Dylan James for Georgia. Dorian had eight points and Dylan four.

Georgia is home against Alabama A&M on Dec. 30. North Florida plays at Miami (Fla.) next Friday.
