Southern Illinois crushes Maryville 82-40 behind Jalen Haynes
CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) Jalen Haynes had 20 points as Southern Illinois Salukis made a strong first impression Monday, defeating Maryville (MO) 82-40.
Haynes also contributed seven assists for the Salukis. Luke Walsh scored 14 points while shooting 4 for 9 from the field, including 4 for 7 from 3-point range, and 2 for 3 from the free-throw line. Luke Susko had 13 points and went 5 for 13 from the field, including 3 for 10 from 3-point range.
Alex Johnson finished with 13 points for the Saints. Raynard Horry added seven points for Maryville (MO). Eric Hackett also had five points.
