Three of the five players announced as first-team AP All-Americans on Tuesday are from the Big Ten, with Johnny Davis of Wisconsin, Kofi Cockburn of Illinois and Keegan Murray of Iowa headlining the league's representation. Oscar Tshiebwe of Kentucky and Ochai Agbaji of Kansas rounded out the group of five first-team honorees. Tshiebwe landed 59 of 60 possible first-place votes, more than any other player on the list.
With Jaden Ivey of Purdue receiving second-team honors and Ohio State's E.J. Liddell a third-team honoree, the Big Ten accounted for seven of the 16 total All-Americans (there were six players on the third team due to a tie). Nine of the conference's 14 teams in the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season, but the conference is looking for its first national title since Michigan State won it all in 2000.

If a Big Ten team can't win it all this season, it certainly won't be for a lack of star power. Zach Edey of Purdue and Ron Harper Jr. of Rutgers were also named honorable mentions.
Gonzaga and Auburn both had two honorees. Drew Timme and Chet Holmgren were named second-team All-Americans for the Zags, while Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler earned second and third-team honorees, respectively, for Auburn.
