Day 1 of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge features two top-5 teams from the Big Ten hosting top-25 opponents from the ACC. The Big Ten is favored to win its fourth straight Challenge, and the ACC’s upset hopes likely depend on getting wins in at least one of those marquee games.

Here is how we rank the ACC/Big Ten Challenge games Tuesday night:

1. No. 14 North Carolina at No. 1 Indiana, Tuesday, 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) -- A matchup between two programs that have combined for 3,600 wins and 10 NCAA championship wins caps the first night of the Challenge. The Tar Heels are trying to work four freshmen into the lineup, including PG Marcus Paige, and have struggled on defense early, but the game matches two of the top-10 scoring offenses in the nation.

2. No. 18 NC State at No. 3 Michigan, Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) -- NC State has also struggled to integrate a talented freshman class into a veteran team that made the Sweet 16 last season. The Wolfpack were blown out by Oklahoma State and struggled against NC Asheville. Michigan is rolling, behind Gs Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke.

3. Minnesota at Florida State, Tuesday, 7:15 p.m. ET (ESPN2) -- The game matches two conference player of the week award winners. Golden Gophers G Andre Hollins scored 41 points against Memphis in the Battle for Atlantis to win the Big Ten award last week. Seminoles G Michael Snaer took the ACC award for the first week of the season.

4. Maryland at Northwestern, Tuesday, 9:15 p.m. ET (ESPN2) -- Soon, this will be a conference game. C Alex Len has become a force in the post for the Terrapins, and Maryland pushed Kentucky to the brink in a three-point loss in the opener. Northwestern is 6-0, but this will be the first test for the Wildcats.  

5. Iowa at Virginia Tech, Tuesday, 7:15 p.m. ET (ESPNU) -- Virginia Tech has won its first five games for new coach James Johnson, but the Hokies have played one of the softest schedules in the nation. Iowa will provide the first real test.

6. Nebraska at Wake Forest, Tuesday, 9:15 p.m. ET (ESPNU) -- The Demon Deacons beat the Huskers 55-53 in the lowest-scoring game of last year’s challenge. With Virginia at Wisconsin on tap for Wednesday night, this matchup probably won’t repeat this year.
