Star of the night: Larkin, Miami. Miami was able to bounce back from its defeat at the hands of Florida Gulf Coast earlier this week, and now, it will get Scott back for the next game Nov. 24 against Detroit.
Inside the box score – 3 numbers worth a second look
18 -- Wake Forest had 18 turnovers in its 77-71 loss to Connecticut. The Demon Deacons did not do the little things they needed to win, not only turning the ball over but also making just 12 of 22 free throws. Wake Forest’s talent level has increased, but it doesn’t have enough to overcome those kinds of miscues against good teams like UConn.
50 -- NC State scored a season-high 50 points in the paint in its 94-76 win over Massachusetts. The Wolfpack seemingly have a perfect balance of inside and outside scoring. F Scott Wood was 5-for-9 from three, and the team made eight of its 18 attempts from beyond the arc.
15 -- Florida State freshman PG Devon Bookert scored 15 points with six assists and five rebounds in the 88-70 win over BYU. The Seminoles have a hole at point guard, especially since Ian Miller looks more comfortable off the ball. If Bookert is the consistent answer for the Seminoles, that would help immensely.
Friday’s quote of the day: NC State F Scott Wood on the Wolfpack’s 94-76 win over Massachusetts, according to Joe Giglio of the News & Observer: “We can be a lot better.”
