Ohio State is "not going to get [Arizona] coach [Sean] Miller" as its next men's basketball coach, according to what new Arizona president Dr. Robert Robbins told the Arizona Republic.
"They will have to come over me to get him," Robbins told the paper. "As the saying goes, over my dead body."
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith removed five-time Big Ten champion Thad Matta after 13 seasons on Monday, at which point various reports identified Miller as a possible candidate. But a source told CBS Sports early Wednesday that Miller has no intention of leaving Arizona for the Big Ten job. He is, as Robbins suggested, expected to remain in Tucson and coach the team that's ranked No. 1 in the CBS Sports preseason Top 25 (and one).
Miller has won four Pac-12 titles and advanced to the Elite Eight three times in eight seasons as Arizona's coach. His 2017 recruiting class is ranked third nationally. And his 2018 class -- after five-star point guard Brandon Williams committed on Tuesday -- is now ranked second nationally, meaning the Wildcats are positioned to be great consistently for the foreseeable future.
