Roster turnover is the norm in college basketball, but perhaps no team in the nation will look as different as the Arkansas Razorbacks when they tip the 2024-25 season off against Lipscomb on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. The Razorbacks made the biggest splash during the coaching carousel, landing the legendary John Calipari from Kentucky. The Razorbacks will return just one scholarship player from last season, Trevon Brazile. Calipari hit the college basketball transfer portal hard and brought in several Arkansas basketball recruits, many of whom had connections to Calipari, to build the Arkansas basketball roster.

Now that the dust has settled from a frantic offseason, the 16th-ranked Razorbacks are set to take the floor. They're heavy favorites against Lipscomb in the opener, but the non-conference schedule features challenging opponents such as Baylor, Illinois, Miami, Michigan and Oakland, leading into a tough SEC opener at Tennessee. Arkansas basketball roster overview

While much of the new-look Arkansas basketball lineup has Kentucky ties, Calipari also added big-name transfers. The biggest frontcourt addition was Tennessee center Jonas Aidoo, a 6-foot-11 senior who averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for the Vols last season. Guard Johnell Davis is also a well-known name to college basketball fans after he was a big part of the 2023 FAU team that made a Final Four run. He averaged 13.8 points per game for that squad and then 18.2 points per game in 2023-24.

Center Zvonimir Ivisic, guard DJ Wagner and forward Adou Thiero are all transfers from Kentucky. Freshmen Boogie Fland, Karter Knox and Billy Richmond were all at one point committed to Kentucky before switching over to Arkansas.

Wagner and Davis are good bets to start in the backcourt, with Thiero, a talented defender, a candidate to start on the wing. Aidoo, Brazile and Ivisic are possibilities in the post. The freshmen -- especially Fland, Knox and Richmond -- should be some of the first players off the bench. Join HawgSports to see the latest Arkansas basketball updates
