Former Louisville point guard Chris Jones was shot Tuesday night after a fight reportedly led to gunfire on a basketball court in Memphis, East Tennessee State coach Steve Forbes told CBS Sports early Wednesday.
Forbes coached Jones in junior college at Northwest Florida State.
According to Forbes, Jones' injuries are not life-threatening.
He was shot in the leg.
"He's already out of the hospital," Forbes said.
Jones was the NABC JUCO Player of the Year in 2013 after averaging 22.9 points while leading Northwest Florida State to the championship game of the NJCAA Tournament. The 25-year-old graduate of Melrose High in Memphis then enrolled at Louisville -- where he averaged 10.2 points as a junior and 13.7 points as a senior before Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino dismissed him from the program.
Jones played the past two seasons professionally in Europe.
