The Indiana Hoosiers made the national title game in 2002, and not only have they failed to reach a Final Four since, they haven't advanced past the Sweet 16 over that span. New coach Indiana basketball coach Darian DeVries is hoping to end that drought and is in the process of shaping the 2025-26 Indiana basketball roster. He'll need to replace at least 11 players from last year's team, counting both seniors now out of eligibility and those who entered the college basketball transfer portal.

The coach's son, Tucker DeVries, is one of half-a-dozen players who have already signed with IU from the transfer portal. However, there is still more work needed to complete the Indiana basketball lineup so the program can push towards the goal of an extended March Madness run. Indiana basketball roster news

April 16 was a good day for IU basketball, which landed a pair of mid-major studs from the college basketball transfer portal. Jasai Miles, an All A-Sun selection with North Florida last year, committed to the Hoosiers after putting up 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in 2024-25. The school also landed Tayton Conerway from Troy from the portal, giving Indiana a pair of guards who each have two years of eligibility left. Conerway was his league's best player last season, winning the Sun Belt Player of the Year award as he averaged 14.2 points and ranked third in all of Division I with 2.9 steals per game.

With IU's backcourt coming into focus, it has now set its attention on fortifying the frontcourt, via targets from different levels of college basketball. Elyjah Freeman of Division II Lincoln Memorial has been in contact with the Hoosiers, and Freeman ranked second amongst all D2 freshmen with 18.9 ppg a year ago. Additionally, Tyrell Ward of LSU, who is a former top-50 national recruit, has received interest from Indiana. Ward averaged 9.1 points in 2023-24, didn't play last season, and would have two years of eligibility remaining. Get the latest Indiana basketball roster news at Peegs.com.
