Indiana coach Tom Crean said forward OG Anunoby suffered a knee injury is "out indefinitely" on Thursday after the potential NBA Lottery pick suffered a knee injury at Penn State on Wednesday night.
Battling for a rebound, his leg buckled and he went down clutching his knee in pain. He did not return.
"OG sustained a knee injury in this past Wednesday night's game against Penn State and is in the midst of ongoing medical evaluations," Crean said. "He will be out indefinitely. On behalf of OG and our entire program, we thank you for all of the support and well wishes that have been sent his way."
After the victory, sealed by a buzzer-beater from James Blackmon Jr. -- Crean choked up when discussing what Indiana (13-6, 3-3 Big Ten) was facing, and uncertainty surrounding his star.
"There were a lot of tears in that locker room because no one knew what was going on with one of their fallen brothers," Crean said. "And I had to leave a guy who was crying and that wasn't easy. But we found a way to win the game so I'm proud of them for that."
Anunoby, a sophomore, is averaging 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds. Draft Express projects him as the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Without the potential lottery pick, Indiana will have an uphill battle in conference play, which resumes Saturday vs. improving Michigan State in Bloomington, Ind.
