Lipscomb has hired Stetson coach Casey Alexander, sources confirmed to CBSSports.com.
Alexander is a former Belmont player and assistant coach who has spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Stetson. The Hatters were 15-16 overall last season and 11-7 in Atlantic Sun play, which were the best marks since 2008-09. Stetson advanced to the A-Sun semifinals for the first time since 2006 before falling to Florida Gulf Coast -- which won the league tourney and also advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.
Alexander played at Belmont from 1992 to 1995 and spent 16 years as an assistant to Rick Byrd at Belmont.
Alexander replaces Scott Sanderson, who was 222-201 in 14 seasons at the helm. Lipscomb was 12-18 last season.
