Northwestern assistant Pat Baldwin has reached an agreement in principle to become Milwaukee's next basketball coach, a source told CBS Sports early Tuesday.
A formal announcement is expected soon.
Baldwin is a Northwestern graduate who has been an assistant at his alma mater the past four seasons. He was instrumental in helping Chris Collins build the Wildcats into a respectable team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history this past season.
Baldwin is replacing LaVall Jordan at Milwaukee.
Jordan left last week to replace Chris Holtmann at Butler.
