Class of 2017 point guard Nick Weatherspoon has committed to Mississippi State, a source told CBS Sports on Sunday.
The 6-foot-2 floor general was one of the biggest risers during last summer on the grassroots circuit and was rated in the top 30 of most recruiting services nationally.
Weatherspoon (from Camden, MS) is the No. 5 ranked point guard in the class of 2017 according to 247Sports.
His brother, Quinndary Weatherspoon, will be a sophomore this season for the Bulldogs.
This commitment is just another sign of Ben Howland's impact in Starkville. The former head coach at both UCLA and Pitt put together the top recruiting class in Mississippi State history last year and is on the verge of turning the Bulldogs into a legitimate contender in the SEC.
