NEWARK, N.J. ( (AP) Tariq Francis scored 26 points as NJIT beat UMass-Lowell 71-64 on Saturday night.
Francis added seven rebounds for the Highlanders (7-15, 3-7 America East Conference). Elijah Buchanan scored 21 points and added five rebounds and three blocks. Mekhi Gray finished 4 of 6 from the field to finish with 10 points.
Quinton Mincey led the way for the River Hawks (16-7, 7-3) with 21 points. Brayden O'Connor added 13 points for UMass-Lowell. Ayinde Hikim also recorded 11 points.
