What's better than watching Bill Self and Tom Crean face off to open the college hoops regular season? Watching Bill Self and Tom Crean face off in Hawaii on Veteran's Day!

In the nightcap matchup at the Armed Forces Classic on Friday night, No. 3 Kansas faces No. 11 Indiana as the second game of a doubleheader that's played in front of military members as a part of Veteran's Day.

SportsLine has the line at Kansas -5.

Here is a recap of storylines to watch for each team along with ATS predictions from the rest of the college hoops panel, and finally, my ATS prediction.

Kansas storyline

Stop me if you've heard this one before: Bill Self is deploying one of the best freshmen in the country who will likely be a top three pick in the NBA draft. Shocker!

High-flying wing Josh Jackson was the countries No. 1 overall prospect from the 2016 recruiting class, and he's the headliner of a Kansas team that is loaded with veteran talent and some promising youngsters. Devonte' Graham and Frank Mason III make up one of the most lethal, proven backcourts in the country. Sophomore big man Carlton Bragg Jr. may be the most athletic player on the team, and he will almost certainly take a step forward in his sophomore year.

Indiana storyline

How will Tom Crean replace do-it-all Indiana star Yogi Ferrell? Pittsburgh transfer Josh Newkirk will take over the job at starting point guard after playing in 69 games during his career at Pitt. He's not a prolific scorer, but he may be the distributor they need to help churn their offense.

The return of James Blackmon Jr., who missed half of the 2015-2016 season with an injury, should also help ease the void in the Hoosiers offense by Ferrell. He averaged 15.8 points and shot 48 percent from the field in 13 games before a season-ending ACL tear. The offense should be lethal this year with Blackmon presumably leading the way. They also feature one of the Big Ten's best frontcourts lead by Thomas Bryant and OG Anunoby.

Boone's prediction: Kansas

I like Kansas to roll by around 10 points. Indiana is going to be fantastic this year and should only improve as the season trudges on. But with a new face running the show at point guard and several returning players set to take on expanded roles, I think it will be difficult for them to contend with the Jayhawks out of the gate. Give me Kansas to cover.
