HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) Abdoulaye Thiam had 25 points in High Point's 100-96 overtime victory over Winthrop on Wednesday night.
Thiam made four free throws in the final 16 seconds of overtime to secure the victory.
After trailing by 19 points, the Eagles forced overtime when K.J. Doucet made three free throws to tie it at 86-all.
Thiam shot 7 for 17 (5 for 12 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free throw line for the Panthers (24-6, 13-2 Big South Conference). Kimani Hamilton scored 19 points and added seven rebounds and five assists. Duke Miles shot 4 of 5 from the field and 8 for 10 from the line to finish with 17 points.
Kasen Harrison led the way for the Eagles (17-13, 8-7) with 27 points and four assists. Winthrop also got 18 points and eight rebounds from Kelton Talford. Doucet finished with 17 points.
