Balling runs in the Ball family. On a night where UCLA star Lonzo Ball set the school's freshman assist record, his younger brother had himself an even better night for Chino Hills high school, also Lonzo's alma mater, with 72 points in a win in the Corona Centennial tournament.
Li'Angelo Ball's big night included 13 3-pointers, a school record. Even more impressive is that he went out and got 56 the night before.
A 6-foot-6 small forward, Li'Angelo signed with UCLA and is part of the Bruins' No. 2 recruiting class behind Kentucky. For as good as Lonzo has been, his younger brother has the makings to perhaps be an even better player with incredible performances like this. And his other brother, LaMelo, also put in 31 points in the win. He too is committed to UCLA. The family has good genes, and the Bruins are set to reap the benefits for several years to come.
