Andrew Dakich's life may have flashed right before his eyes Monday. Campus police made a surprise visit to the Michigan basketball team room, naming the Wolverines guard in several investigations and requesting immediate attention from the Unversity Compliance office.
Dakich nearly lost it, getting on the edge of his seat in disbelief.
But they had good news. Coach John Beilein sent the two officers to deliver the news that Dakich was being placed on full scholarship. In the end, a terrifying, yet well-executed prank.
Today's 〽🏀 meeting was full of suspense 😲, surprise 😳 & happiness 😃... especially for @daycheck3

We've all seen sappy videos where coaches make great speeches, thank the player in question for his contributions, then hand him a scholarship in front of the team. Tears flow and it's an emotional moment. But Beilein went a decidedly different route.
Things that were racing through my mind when I see two officers interrupt Coach B during a team meeting.. My goodness. Beyond grateful pic.twitter.com/hQrxtQ2F5s
