Grizzlies' Javon Small: Pops for 19 points
Small finished Monday's 126-115 loss to the Nets with 19 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 32 minutes.
Small overcame a slow start to the game, ending with 19 points in 32 minutes. Memphis continues to rest players on a regular basis, allowing Small to play a sizeable role. In 11 appearances over the past month, he has managed to put up top 50 value in nine-category leagues, averaging 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.8 three-pointers. Assuming you can deal with the inconsistent playing time, Small makes for a viable addition to most rosters.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Starting nod Monday
Small is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Nets.
With Ty Jerome (calf), Scotty Pippen (toe) and Cedric Coward (knee) all inactive, Small will enter the starting lineup for the fourth time this season. In his first three starts, the West Virginia product averaged 12.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals across 29.0 minutes per contest. Small figures to see a heavy dose of minutes Monday for a banged-up Grizzlies squad.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Not starting Saturday
Small won't start against the Clippers on Saturday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Small got the spot start in Wednesday's loss to Portland but will retreat to the second unit Saturday. Over his last four outings off the bench, the two-way player has averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 24.8 minutes per contest. However, he'll likely see a dip in minutes with several key contributors back in action.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Season-high 33 minutes
Small finished with 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 122-114 loss to the Trail Blazers.
A healthy inactive for the Grizzlies' previous game Tuesday in Minnesota, Small was not only back in the rotation, but he started and logged a season-high minutes load. He ended the game with a full stat line and is now averaging 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.8 three-pointers and 1.2 steals over his past 11 appearances. A two-way player, Small is eligible to play in all but one of the Grizzlies' remaining 21 games, so he should be a relatively stable part of the rotation moving forward so long as Memphis remains shorthanded. Expect at least some dip in playing time from what Small received Wednesday, however, as the Grizzlies are likely to get all of Cedric Coward (knee), Scotty Pippen (toe) and Ty Jerome (calf) back for their next game Saturday versus the Clippers.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Starting Wednesday
Small is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup with the Trail Blazers.
Small will be joined in the first unit by Jaylen Wells, Rayan Rupert, GG Jackson and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. Through two starts this season, Small has averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 triples and 1.0 steals per game.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Not playing Tuesday
Small (two-way) will be inactive for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.
With Cedric Coward (knee) and Ty Jerome (thigh) returning Tuesday following multi-game absences, Memphis will opt to hold out Small and fellow two-way player Jahmai Mashack in an effort to preserve their availability. Small had appeared in each of the Grizzlies' first six games following the All-Star break, averaging 13.2 points, 4.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 three-pointers and 1.5 steals in 25.5 minutes per contest while shooting 51.1 percent from the field. After Tuesday's contest, Small will be eligible to suit up for 21 of the Grizzlies' remaining 22 games, so his availability shouldn't be much of an issue moving forward.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Reverting to bench role Sunday
Small is not in the Grizzlies' starting lineup against the Pacers on Sunday, Tony East of Forbes.com reports.
The rookie second-rounder made his first NBA start against the Warriors on Wednesday and was in the starting five in Friday's loss to the Mavericks, when he logged nine points, five assists, four rebounds, two steals and one three-pointer over 26 minutes. Small will return to the bench for Sunday's contest while the Grizzlies roll with a starting five of Walter Clayton, Scotty Pippen, GG Jackson, Jaylen Wells and Olivier-Maxence Prosper.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Modest line in first NBA start
Small amassed 16 points (6-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 133-112 loss to the Warriors.
The rookie second-rounder made his first NBA start Wednesday and put together a nice stat line, finishing as the Grizzlies' third-leading scorer behind GG Jackson (24 points) and Ty Jerome (22 points). Small has seen his minutes increase since late January, though it's unclear whether he'll remain in the starting lineup ahead of the likes of Scotty Pippen and Cam Spencer for as long as Cedric Coward (knee) is sidelined.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: First NBA start Wednesday
Small is in the Grizzlies' starting lineup against the Warriors on Wednesday.
Small will be in the starting lineup Wednesday for the first time in his career. He's coming off a strong performance against the Kings on Monday, when he logged 21 points, nine assists and six rebounds over 25 minutes. Small has played 20-plus minutes in each of his last eight outings and will have the opportunity to take on an expanded role against Golden State.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Pours in team-high 21 points
Small totaled 21 points (6-8 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine assists and six rebounds across 25 minutes during Monday's 123-114 loss to Sacramento.
Small reached double figures for the fifth time in his past six appearances and has now exceeded 20 points on two of those occasions. Despite Memphis having an abundance of guards on any given night, injuries and rest have opened up a path to minutes for Small, having now played at least 25 minutes in three straight games. Though Small's solid play of late has put him on the radar as a fantasy pickup, he could be at risk of losing out on some minutes when the likes of Cedric Coward (knee), Santi Aldama (knee) and Kyle Anderson (knee) return to action.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Logs career-high 22 points
Small ended with 22 points (7-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one block across 28 minutes during Saturday's 122-115 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Ja Morant's (elbow) extended absence has sent ripples through Memphis' rotation, and it's resulted in meaningful minutes for Small off the bench. A turf toe injury stymied Small's league debut earlier in the season, but the team's decision to keep the rookie with the parent club could begin to pay dividends as they navigate a campaign that seems to be the beginning of a rebuild.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Strong line off bench
Small amassed 14 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 117-98 loss to Phoenix.
Ja Morant (calf) missed his third game in a row Wednesday, but he's presumed to be day-to-day. Small finished a couple of points shy of his season-best mark of 16 points, and he showed good instincts as a playmaker as well. He's worth monitoring in Memphis with the team dealing with so many injuries.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Hands out five assists Sunday
Small registered seven points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal over 16 minutes during Sunday's 120-114 loss to the Lakers.
The absence of Ja Morant (calf) allowed Small to enter the Memphis rotation to play his most minutes since Oct. 27. Small recently returned from an extended absence with a turf toe injury, and he may be scrubbed from the backcourt rotation entirely once Morant makes his way back into the fray.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Will play Tuesday
Small (toe) is available for Tuesday's game against the Jazz.
Small hasn't played since early November due to a left turf toe injury but will return to the lineup Tuesday. With Cedric Coward (heel), Ja Morant (ankle) and several other Memphis players sidelined, Small could see meaningful burn during his return.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Upgraded to questionable
Small (toe) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Jazz.
The Grizzlies expected Small to miss at least three more weeks as of Dec. 11, but he appears to be well ahead of schedule in his recovery from a left turf toe injury. He hasn't played since Nov. 5 and would likely face significant limits to his playing time if cleared to play Tuesday, though there'll be plenty of minutes available with Ja Morant (ankle) and Vince Williams (knee) sidelined.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: To miss at least three more weeks
Small (toe) is expected to miss at least three more weeks, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Small is recovering well from a turf toe injury, though he could be out for as long as five more weeks. His absence doesn't seem to affect the Memphis rotation a great deal, but Cam Spencer should hang onto a decent role even when Ja Morant (calf) is cleared to return.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Remains out indefinitely
Small (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Portland.
Small hasn't been available to play since Nov. 7 due to turf toe, and there remains no clear timetable for his return to action. He can be considered week-to-week moving forward.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: To be re-evaluated in three weeks
Small (toe) will be re-evaluated in three weeks, the Grizzlies announced Saturday.
Small has been sidelined since being diagnosed with turf toe back on Nov. 8. Based on this timetable, Small's earliest return date would be Dec. 7 against the Trail Blazers. Small is on a two-way contract and has appeared in eight regular-season games thus far for 12.5 minutes per contest.

Grizzlies' Javon Small: Still sidelined
Small (toe) won't play in Saturday's game against Cleveland.
Small is battling turf toe on his left foot, and the issue will keep him sidelined for a fourth consecutive game. It's unclear when he'll be able to return to the hardwood, but his absence should have minimal impact on the Grizzlies' rotation. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against San Antonio.
