Timberwolves' Rob Dillingham: Shut down with ankle injury
Dillingham won't return to Thursday's game against the Raptors due to a right ankle sprain. He tallied two points (1-2 FG) and one assist in 10 minutes prior to departing.
Dillingham rolled his ankle during the fourth quarter and appeared to be in pain on the bench after the play. Donte DiVincenzo should serve as the Timberwolves' primary facilitator for the rest of the game with Dillingham done for the evening and with Mike Conley (toe) sitting out.

Timberwolves' Rob Dillingham: Plays first career minutes in loss
Dillingham registered zero points (0-1 FG) and two assists in three minutes during Saturday's 113-103 loss to San Antonio.
Dillingham played three minutes Saturday, seeing his first regular-season action in the NBA. Despite the fact the Timberwolves traded up to secure him in the draft, it appears as though he is going to spend the majority of the season on the bench. While it is always great to see a rookie making their debut, this is unlikely to result in consistent minutes moving forward.

Timberwolves' Rob Dillingham: Pops for 15 to wrap up preseason
Dillingham scored 15 points (6-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt) while adding seven assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes during Thursday's 132-126 preseason loss to the Nuggets.
While Denver trotted out its likely starting five for the regular season, Minnesota elected to rest all its key players, giving bench players like Dillingham a chance of making one final good impression on Minnesota's coaches. The 19-year-old guard flashed his offensive skills this preseason, but while he's a big part of the team's future, Dillingham likely won't have a huge role in the Timberwolves' backcourt to begin his NBA career.

Timberwolves' Rob Dillingham: Starting in preseason finale
Dillingham will start in Thursday's preseason finale against the Nuggets.
The Timberwolves are not only resting their starters, but they're also resting their regular reserves for this contest. Dillingham, the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, will get the start at point guard and will feature alongside P.J. Dozier in the backcourt.

Timberwolves' Rob Dillingham: Pops for 21 against Lakers
Dillingham scored 21 points (9-20 FG, 3-6 3Pt) while adding four assists and a rebound in 25 minutes off the bench during Friday's preseason win over the Lakers.
The 19-year-old guard got plenty of run in Minnesota's preseason opener, and he showed off the skills that made him the eighth overall pick in the 2024 Draft. Dillingham may not see much of the court early in his rookie season behind a veteran backcourt led by Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo, but if injuries hit, the Kentucky product could be asked to do more than provide some instant offense off the bench.

Spurs' Rob Dillingham: Headed to Wolves after trade-up
Dillingham was selected by the Timberwolves with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
The Wolves traded all the way up from No. 27 to grab Dillingham, who's coming off of a dynamic freshman season at Kentucky. Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wolves will send a 2031 unprotected pick, as well as a 2030 pick swap, to the Spurs in the deal. One of the most exciting offensive players in the country, Dillingham averaged 15.2 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in just 23.3 minutes per game last season. He also knocked down 44.4 percent of his 4.4 three-point attempts per game. At 6-foot-1, 165 pounds, Dilingham is a bit undersized, but the Wolves are betting that he'll be able to add weight to his slight frame in order to handle the rigors of the NBA game. With Mike Conley and Anthony Edwards already in place in Minnesota, Dillingham figures to be used as a sparkplug off the bench in Year 1.
