Bulls' Jalen Smith: Nears double-double in win
Smith finished Monday's 129-119 victory over Denver with 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes.
Smith had a strong overall performance against the Nuggets, coming one rebound shy of a double-double. The 24-year-old big man is averaging 8.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the floor.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Comes up short Thursday
Smith was ejected from Thursday's 125-123 victory over the Magic after totaling three points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one block over 26 minutes.
Smith fouled out Thursday, failing to make the most of what was a nice opportunity. With Zach Collins fouling out in just 12 minutes, Smith was afforded starters' minutes, yet failed to capitalize. Since returning from a concussion, Smith has been playing a modest role off the bench, something that seems likely to continue, at least until Nikola Vucevic (calf) returns to the court.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Backs up Collins in return
Smith (concussion) recorded four points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 13 minutes Friday in the Bulls' 125-115 overtime win over the Raptors.
In his return from a three-game absence after a stint in concussion protocol, Smith filled his familiar No. 2 center role. However, he was backing up Zach Collins rather than Nikola Vucevic (calf), who was sidelined for a third straight game. Though the starting job still belongs to Vucevic when healthy, it's unclear whether Smith will stick ahead of Collins as the top backup once Chicago is back to full strength at center. Collins has been effective while being included in the rotation in each of the last five games, averaging 13.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.6 three-pointers and 0.6 blocks in 27.8 minutes during that stretch.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Gets green light Friday
Smith (concussion) is available for Friday's game against the Raptors, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
The big man will snap a three-game absence streak due to the concussion, and he could be in line for an uptick in playing time with Nikola Vucevic (calf) sidelined. Over his last 10 appearances, Smith has averaged 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor across 14.4 minutes per game.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Upgraded to probable Friday
Smith (concussion) is listed as probable for Friday's game against Toronto.
Smith is likely to return from a three-game absence streak Friday due to a concussion. The big man could be in line for an uptick in playing time if he's able to suit up, as Nikola Vucevic (hip) is listed as doubtful. Over his last 10 outings, Smith has averaged 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per contest.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Iffy for Friday
Smith (concussion) is questionable to play Friday versus the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Smith is in danger of missing his fourth consecutive game due to still being in the league's concussion protocol. With Nikola Vucevic (hip) also doubtful to play Friday, Zach Collins may be in line to start again for Chicago. Collins is averaging 20.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in his two starts for the Bulls this season.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Remains out with concussion
Smith (concussion) is out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
A concussion will cost Smith a third straight game Wednesday, with the veteran big man's next chance to suit up coming Friday against the Raptors. Nikola Vucevic (calf) is unlikely to play against Los Angeles, so Zach Collins (shin) is in line to draw the starting nod at center and carry a boost in fantasy value.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Won't play Monday
Smith (concussion) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the 76ers.
Smith is still in the league's concussion protocol and will miss a second straight game as a result. His next opportunity to take the floor will be Wednesday against the Clippers. Zach Collins will continue to serve as the Bulls' backup center behind Nikola Vucevic in Smith's absence.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Not playing Saturday vs. Phoenix
Smith (concussion) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Suns.
Smith entered concussion protocol following Thursday's overtime loss to the Knicks. He'll need to clear the protocol to return, but he may have difficulty getting the green light to play in time for Monday's game against the 76ers. Zach Collins should absorb Smith's minutes as the Bulls' backup center behind Nikola Vucevic (calf).

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Goes down with face injury
Smith won't return to Thursday's game against the Knicks due to a face injury. He failed to score (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and recorded one rebound and one assist in two minutes before exiting.
The severity of Smith's injury is unknown at this time. Zach Collins could see more work than usual behind Nikola Vucevic with Smith shut down for the evening.

Smith amassed 15 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and three rebounds across 19 minutes during Saturday's 132-111 loss to the Warriors.
Despite not playing elevated minutes, Smith has been productive for the Bulls of late. Over his last five appearances, Smith has averaged 12.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 58.5 percent from the field despite playing only 17.8 minutes per game.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Avoids injury report
Smith (personal) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Warriors.
Smith didn't participate in Friday's practice while attending to a personal matter, but it appears he will be available to play Saturday. The fifth-year big man has averaged 10.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 blocks over 16.8 minutes per game over his last five outings.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Doesn't practice Friday
Head coach Billy Donovan said that Smith missed Friday's practice due to personal reasons, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Smith was absent from practice, which bodes poorly for his status ahead of Saturday's game against Golden State. The Bulls could be shorthanded in the frontcourt with the statuses of Zach Collins (recently traded) and Adama Sanogo (knee) up in the air. As a result, Patrick Williams and Matas Buzelis could see an uptick in playing time.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Available Tuesday
Smith (illness) is available for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
After being a late scratch due to an illness Sunday against Detroit, Smith is available Tuesday to handle his usual role off Chicago's bench as the top backup big man behind Nikola Vucevic. Over his last five games, Smith has averaged 9.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 17.0 minutes.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Questionable with illness
Smith (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
After being a late scratch ahead of Sunday's game against the Pistons, Smith continues to deal with an illness. The Bulls will likely wait until closer to Tuesday's tipoff to update the veteran big man's status. If Smith sits out, Chicago would likely lean heavily on Nikola Vucevic to dominate the center minutes against Miami.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Ruled out Sunday
Smith (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Detroit.
Smith was a late addition to the injury report and will miss his first game since Dec. 28 due to the illness. The Bulls could be short-handed in the frontcourt with no indication that Adama Sanogo or E.J. Liddell will return from their G League duties, meaning Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips could see a bump in playing time.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Deemed questionable Sunday
Smith (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Detroit.
Smith was a late addition to the injury report and could miss his first matchup since Dec. 28 due to the illness. Over his last five outings, the big man has averaged 9.8 points and 7.2 rebounds across 17.2 minutes per contest. If Smith is sidelined Sunday, Adama Sanogo and Dalen Terry could see increased run.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Three rejections Wednesday
Smith finished Wednesday's 122-100 loss to Boston with nine points (3-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and three blocks over 23 minutes off the bench.
The fifth-year center missed recording his second double-double of the season as he tied his season high in rebounds. At the same time, the three rejections represented his best performance at the rim since he blocked five shots against the Hornets in a spot start Dec. 13. That game was also the last time Smith saw at least 20 minutes of court time. Still, Wednesday's workload was a product of the scoreboard -- Nikola Vucevic sat out the entire fourth quarter. If he consistently finds his way into a larger role, Smith's ability to contribute in blocks and threes would give him some fantasy appeal, but it might take a Vucevic trade for that to happen.

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Will go Monday
Smith (knee) is available for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Smith was added to the injury report due to right knee tendonitis, but the issue isn't significant enough to keep him out of Monday's clash. He's averaging 13.6 minutes over his last five appearances and should expect to see a similar workload against LA.
