No. 1 -- CB: McGee vs. Finnie. Senior CB Brandon McGee decided not to run track this spring in order to focus on football. Evidently he didn't focus too hard; McGee is listed as the third-string CB. McGee, who started in all 12 games last season, will try to regain his starting job, battling sophomore Thomas Finnie , juco transfer Ladarius Gunter, freshman Larry Hope and redshirt sophomore Keion Payne. No. 2 -- RB: James vs. Clements. Senior Mike James was one half of the "smash and dash" RB duo last season. But now that Lamar Miller has declared for the NFL draft, will James, who pushed through turf toe to rush for 275 yards and eight TDs, assert himself as the starter? James will be pushed by junior Eduardo Clements who saw his playing time increase in the second half of last season. No. 3 -- RT: Johnson vs. Henderson. Seantrel Henderson came to Miami with the highest of expectations. The 6-8, 345-pound junior played in eight games last season, starting two, after recovering from back surgery. Jermaine Johnson played in 11 games as a freshman, starting in five. The 6-6, 320-pound redshirt junior spent most of 2011 on the scout team. Johnson is listed as the starter going into spring football. Henderson needs to have his play match his potential. rd
