- Five-star DE recruit Robert Nkemdiche is the top-rated recruit in the country. He committed to Clemson this summer, but he’s giving coaches reason to worry. Nkemdiche announced that he plans to “visit somewhere out West,” possibly USC, Oregon or UCLA. Kristen Ledlow of Scout.com had the full report.
- Unofficial visits don’t get much more unofficial than when QB Tajh Boyd and his father first saw Clemson. They were driving on Interstate 85 and decided to take a detour and follow the tiger paws painted on the road. Raycom Sports profiled Boyd’s Clemson career.
- Boston College coach Frank Spaziani had a teleconference with the media Sunday. He said the team plans to replace injured TE Chris Pantale with a committee of players, and announced that the DL is “fully loaded” with healthy players.
- NC State MLB Sterling Lucas missed all of last season with a left-knee injury. He spent the time in the coaches box, helping with playcalling on defense. This year he’s healthy and a captain on defense. Bret Strelow of the Fayetteville Observer spoke to Lucas.
- North Carolina has the best running back unit in the ACC and Duke has the worst, according to Virginia Tech blog GobblerCountry. Clemson and Virginia are ranked just behind Carolina, and Maryland finishes just ahead of Duke.
