Akron vs. Temple Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Akron vs. Temple football game
The Temple Owls are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Akron Zips at 3:30 p.m. ET Sept. 11 at Summa Field at InfoCision Stadium. Neither team wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable loss.
There's no need to mince words: Temple lost to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights last week, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 61-14. The Owls were down 40-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. QB D'Wan Mathis wasn't much of a difference maker for Temple; Mathis threw one interception and fumbled the ball once with a passing completion percentage of only 33.33%.
Meanwhile,'s it's hard to picture a worse defeat than the 60-10 bruising that Akron suffered against the Auburn Tigers last week. Akron was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 37 to nothing. Their only offensive touchdown came from RB Jonzell Norrils.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Giving up five turnovers, Temple had had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if the Zips can exploit that vulnerability.
