On Saturday, the Arizona State Sun Devils turned the game against the UNLV Rebels into a track meet and took the gold after outgaining them 468 yards to 155. ASU was the clear victor by a 37-10 margin over UNLV. That's two games in a row now that the Sun Devils have won by 27 points.
quarterIt took a quarter to shake off the cobwebs, but after zero 1st quarter points, the Arizona State offense picked up 14 points in the second quarter. The Rebels weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 14-10 heading into the break. The offense for ASU continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 23 points to put the game away.
ASU QB Jayden Daniels did work as he passed for two TDs and 175 yards on 29 attempts in addition to picking up 125 yards on the ground. RB Rachaad White was in the mix, too, providing ASU with two touchdowns.
UNLV's only offensive touchdown came on a rush from QB Doug Brumfield. The contest pushed the Rebels down to 0-2 and pulled the Sun Devils up to the reverse at 2-0.
ASU will take on the BYU Cougars at 10:15 p.m. ET next Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium. BYU is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 26-17 victory over the Utah Utes on Saturday. UNLV will take on the Iowa State Cyclones at 10:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. Iowa State also suffered a recent defeat, falling 27-17 to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday.
