PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) Brandon Duncan connected with Jaelen Collins for a 44-yard touchdown to ignite a second-half rally that propelled Arkansas-Pine Bluff to a 23-10 win over Morehouse in the season opener for both teams Saturday night.
Trailing 10-0 in the third quarter, UAPB got its first score with Collins' TD grab and took the lead on its next possession with a 37-yard touchdown run by KeShaw Williams, who finished with 125 yards on 16 carries.
A 39-yard field goal by Jamie Gillian stretched to the advantage to 17-10 and UAPB's Rico Merriweather intercepted Michael Sims' pass in the fourth quarter to set up a 47-yard drive capped by a 10-yard touchdown run by Christian Jordan.
Kivon Taylor was 15 of 31 for 126 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception for Morehouse, an NCAA Division II program. Amyr Smith had the TD catch and Fernando Sdelamora had a 24-yard field goal for Morehouse.
