The Memphis Tigers won the last time they faced the Arkansas State Red Wolves, and things went their way on Saturday, too. Memphis snuck past Arkansas State with a 55-50 victory.
The Tigers started the contest off right with 34 first-half points. Arkansas State countered with 23 points. Memphis was outperformed in the second half 27-21 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
The win bumped Memphis' record up to 2-0. The loss dropped the Red Wolves back to even at 1-1.
The Tigers will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the Mississippi State Bulldogs at 4 p.m. ET. MSU is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 24-10 win over the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday. As for Arkansas State, they will go up against the Washington Huskies at 4:15 p.m. ET next Saturday at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium. Washington also suffered a recent defeat, falling 24-3 to the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.
