Live scores, highlights and updates from the Army West Point vs. Mercer football game
Game Recap
A well-balanced attack led the Army West Point Black Knights over the Mercer Bears every single quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The Black Knights were completely in charge, breezing past Mercer 49-3 at home. That looming 46-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Army yet this year.
It might not have been close, but the contest didn't lack excitement. Army West Point's RB Tyrell Robinson hauled in a 53-yard TD pass in the first quarter. In another great play for the team, DB Jabari Moore swiped an interception and returned it 29 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Black Knights and raised their record to 6-1. The loss dropped Mercer back to even at 0-0.
Army will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the Air Force Falcons at 11:30 a.m. ET in two weeks at Blaik Field at Michie Stadium. Mercer will be playing at home against the Abilene Christian Wildcats at noon ET next Saturday. Like the Bears, Abilene Christian is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 35-32 to the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.
