Game Recap
The best player on the turf between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Auburn Tigers two weeks ago ended up on the losing team. Although he couldn't prevent a 30-28 loss to Auburn, QB Feleipe Franks passed for four TDs and 318 yards on 30 attempts.
In addition to Franks, Arkansas got help from RB Trelon Smith, who caught six passes for one TD and 78 yards.
RB Tank Bigsby had only a few touches three weeks ago, but he got the ball a lot more this time and made it count. The Tigers' success was spearheaded by the efforts of QB Bo Nix, who passed for one TD and 187 yards on 28 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 30 yards, and Bigsby, who picked up 146 yards on the ground on 20 carries. Auburn also relied on the talents of K Anders Carlson, whose three field goals, the longest a 47-yard boot in the first quarter, proved pivotal in the final score.
The matchup pushed Arkansas down to 1-2 and pulled Auburn up to the reverse at 2-1.
The Razorbacks will take on the Ole Miss Rebels at 3:30 p.m. ET last week at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Arkansas and Ole Miss are both 1-0 after wins this season, but that symmetry won't hold for long. As for Auburn, they will go up against the South Carolina Gamecocks at noon ET last week at Williams-Brice Stadium. Like Auburn, USC is also coming into the contest bolstered by a recent win.
