Ball State vs. Central Michigan updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Wednesday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ball State vs. Central Michigan football game
Game Recap
After losing to the Ball State Cardinals the last time they met, the Central Michigan Chippewas decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. CMU strolled past Ball State with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the contest 37-17. The team accrued 28 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
RB Lew Nichols III went supernova for the Chippewas as he rushed for three TDs and 207 yards on 31 carries. Nichols III put himself on the highlight reel with a 66-yard TD scramble in the second quarter. QB Daniel Richardson didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.
RB Carson Steele put forth a good effort for the losing side as he punched in one rushing touchdown.
The victory bumped CMU's record up to 7-4. Ball State has fallen quite a ways from their 7-1 record from last season and are now 5-6.
CMU will look to defend their home turf next week against the Eastern Michigan Eagles at noon ET. Like the Chippewas, EMU is also coming into the game bolstered by a recent win. The Cardinals will play host again and welcome the Buffalo Bulls to Scheumann Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
