Baylor vs. Texas Southern: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Baylor vs. Texas Southern football game
Game Recap
The Baylor Bears ran circles around the Texas Southern Tigers on Saturday, and the extra yardage (707 yards vs. 283 yards) paid off. Baylor took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 66-7 victory over Texas Southern.
The Bears started the game off right with 42 first-half points. Meanwhile, the Tigers couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 42 to nothing heading into the break. The Baylor defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the contest.
QB Gerry Bohanon had a stellar game for Baylor as he passed for three TDs and 247 yards on 23 attempts in addition to punching in two rushing touchdowns. WR Tyquan Thornton was in the mix, too, providing Baylor with two touchdowns.
Texas Southern's only offensive touchdown came from RB Kevin Harris. The contest brought the Bears to 2-0 and dropped the Tigers to a mirror-image 0-2.
Baylor will square off against the Kansas Jayhawks at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Kivisto Field at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Unlike Baylor, Kansas will be stumbling in off of a loss. Texas Southern can take some time to mend their wounds since their next game isn't for a while. They will face the Rice Owls at Rice Stadium at 6:30 p.m. ET in two weeks.
