A Chicago Bears decision to put WR Johnny Knox on the physically unable to perform list for the start of the regular season will not be announced until later in preseason. Coach Lovie Smith expects the entire team to practice Thursday except for Knox, who continues to work on his own after back surgery. Knox weighed only 150 pounds during OTAs and it would seem a long shot at best for him to get back and be ready to compete with 10 other receivers on the roster. The position has more depth than it's had in years so there's no logical reason in rushing him back. Knox's big addition to the receiver corps was his speed, but Brandon Marshall, Devin Hester, and Eric Weems all can provide this.
