Live scores, highlights and updates from the Boise State vs. UTEP football game
Game Recap
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for the Boise State Broncos on Friday. They put a hurting on the UTEP Miners at home to the tune of 54-13. The win came about even with the Broncos handicapping themselves with 88 penalty yards.
Boise State's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 41 points in the first half. UTEP wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 41-13 heading into the break. The Boise State defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the contest.
Boise State QB Hank Bachmeier was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 340 yards on 24 attempts. The team can also thank their defense for forcing the opposing offense to cough up 6 turnovers.
Special teams collected 18 points for the Broncos. K Jonah Dalmas delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game. Stefan Cobbs' 81-yard punt return for touchdown should surely be counted as one of the game's standout moments.

The win got Boise State back to even at 1-1. The defeat dropped UTEP's record to 2-1.
Boise State will be hunkering down at home again for their game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys at 9 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at Albertsons Stadium.
