Boston College vs. Florida State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Boston College vs. Florida State football game
The Boston College Eagles are 1-3 against the Florida State Seminoles since November of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. BC and FSU will face off in an ACC battle at noon ET at Alumni Stadium. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.
The Eagles were able to grind out a solid win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last week, winning 41-30. QB Phil Jurkovec went supernova for BC as he passed for two TDs and 310 yards on 20 attempts in addition to rushing for three TDs and 71 yards.
Meanwhile, things were close when FSU and the Miami (FL) Hurricanes clashed last week, but FSU ultimately edged out the opposition 31-28. It was another big night for the Seminoles' QB Jordan Travis, who accumulated 274 passing yards in addition to rushing for two TDs and 62 yards. FSU's victory came on a one-yard rush from Travis with only 0:30 remaining in the fourth quarter followed up by a gutsy two-point conversion.
Special teams collected 11 points for FSU. K Ryan Fitzgerald delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
This next matchup is expected to be close, with BC going off at just a 1.5-point favorite. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (4-0), so they might be worth a quick bet.
BC is now 6-4 while FSU sits at a mirror-image 4-6. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: The Eagles are 168th worst in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, with 176 on average. The Seminoles have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 229th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 22 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
