Boston College vs. Florida State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Boston College vs. Florida State football game
Florida State haven't yet left their home-field this season, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will challenge the Boston College Eagles at 12:00 p.m. ET at Alumni Stadium. Florida State will be looking to extend their current 8-game winning streak.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Florida State's strategy against Southern Miss on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Florida State blew Southern Miss out of the water with a 66-13 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Florida State had established a 42 point advantage.
Florida State can attribute much of their success to RB Trey Benson, who rushed for 79 yards and three touchdowns. Benson's most impressive was a 42 yard score in the third quarter. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from QB Jordan Travis, who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns on 29 attempts.
Meanwhile, Boston College had just enough and edged Holy Cross out 31-28 on Saturday. With that victory, Boston College brought their scoring average up to 27.5 points per game.
RB Kye Robichaux and QB Thomas Castellanos were among the main playmakers for Boston College as the former rushed for 94 yards and punched in a rushing TD and the latter threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns on 23 attempts, in addition to 69 yards on the ground. TE George Takacs also helped out by posting a receiving touchdown.
Looking ahead, the game looks promising for Florida State, as the team is favored by a full 26 points. They finished last season with a stellar 8-4 record against the spread, so they might be worth a quick bet.
Everything came up roses for Florida State against Boston College in their previous matchup last September as the team secured a 44-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Florida State since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
