Boston College vs. Virginia Tech Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Boston College vs. Virginia Tech football game
Game Recap
The Virginia Tech Hokies were the 40-14 winners over the Boston College Eagles when they previously met last October. On Friday? They had no such luck. Virginia Tech took a 17-3 hit to the loss column. That's the fewest points they have scored all year.
BC can attribute much of their success to RB Pat Garwo III, who rushed for one TD and 116 yards on 30 carries, and QB Phil Jurkovec, who accumulated 112 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 65 yards.
The contest pushed the Hokies down to 4-5 and pulled the Eagles up to the reverse at 5-4.
Virginia Tech will take on the Duke Blue Devils at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at home. Neither Virginia Tech nor Duke could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one. As for BC, they will go up against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field.
