Bowling Green vs. Akron: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Bowling Green vs. Akron football game
After two games on the road, the Bowling Green Falcons are heading back home. The Falcons and the Akron Zips will face off in a Mid-American battle at noon ET on Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Bowling Green came up short against the Kent State Golden Flashes last week, falling 27-20.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 10-10 at halftime, but Akron was not quite the Ohio Bobcats' equal in the second half when they met last week. Akron took a hard 34-17 fall against Ohio.
Bowling Green is the favorite in this one, with an expected 14.5-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a three-game streak of ATS wins.
The losses put the Falcons at 2-3 and the Zips at 1-4. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: Bowling Green is 231st worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 11 on the season. Akron has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 245th most touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 25 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
