Bowling Green vs. Akron updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Bowling Green vs. Akron football game
The Akron Zips will head out on the road to face off against the Bowling Green Falcons at 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Akron is limping into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Akron's game on Saturday was all tied up 3-3 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 17-10 to Central Michigan.
Meanwhile, Bowling Green was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 24-14 win over Buffalo.
Bowling Green's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camden Orth, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown. PaSean Wimberly also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Bowling Green's victory bumped their season record to 3-4 while Akron's defeat dropped theirs to 1-6.
While only Bowling Green took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. Looking forward, Bowling Green is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by eight points. Anyone thinking of taking Akron against the spread should keep this in mind: the team hasn't covered the last three times they've played Bowling Green.
Akron couldn't quite finish off Bowling Green in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 and fell 31-28. Thankfully for Akron, Matt McDonald (who threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
