Bowling Green vs. Ohio Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Bowling Green vs. Ohio football game
The Bowling Green Falcons haven't won a game against the Ohio Bobcats since Nov. 4 of 2015, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Friday. Bowling Green and Ohio will face off in a Mid-American battle at noon ET at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
There was early excitement for the Falcons after they claimed the game's first points two weeks ago, but it was the Miami (OH) RedHawks who ended up claiming the real prize. Bowling Green found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 34-7 punch to the gut against Miami (OH). The last quarter was a mere formality since it was already 34-7 by the third quarter. RB Terion Stewart put forth a good effort for the losing side as he punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 62-yard rush in the first quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.
Meanwhile, Ohio came up short against the Toledo Rockets last Tuesday, falling 35-23. No one had a standout game offensively for the Bobcats, but they got scores from RB Sieh Bangura and WR Chase Cokley.
Special teams collected 11 points for Ohio. K Stephen Johnson delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The Falcons are expected to lose this next one by 6. Their home turf has been no bettor's paradise, as they've failed to beat the spread in three of their five home games.
The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 3-8. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Bowling Green is stumbling into the game with the 239th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 29 on the season. Ohios have had an even harder time: they are 232nd worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 25 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
