The Bowling Green Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Toledo Rockets at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bowling Green comes in on four and Toledo on nine.
Bowling Green put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They steamrolled past Kent State 49-19 on the road. With Bowling Green ahead 28-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Taron Keith, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Camden Orth also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Bowling Green's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Cashius Howell was especially locked on to Kent State's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, one look at the score and it should come as no surprise that Toledo was far and away the favorite against Eastern Michigan. Everything went Toledo's way against Eastern Michigan on Wednesday as Toledo made off with a 49-23 win. Toledo pushed the score to 42-9 by the end of the third, a deficit Eastern Michigan cut but never quite recovered from.
Toledo's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dequan Finn, who threw for 407 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.2% of his passes, and Peny Boone, who gained 168 total yards and three touchdowns. Jerjuan Newton also helped out as he racked up 108 receiving yards.
Bowling Green has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Toledo, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record.
Bowling Green was able to grind out a solid win over Toledo in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 42-35. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Toledo's Tucker Gleason, who threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Bowling Green still be able to contain him? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
