Buffalo vs. Liberty updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Buffalo vs. Liberty football game
Liberty haven't yet left their home-field this season, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will take on the Buffalo Bulls at 12:00 p.m. ET at UB Stadium. Liberty should still be riding high after a big win, while Buffalo will be looking to get back into the win column.
Last Saturday, Liberty strolled past New Mexico State with points to spare, taking the game 33-17. The win made it back-to-back wins for Liberty.
QB Kaidon Salter looked spectacular while leading his team to the win, throwing for 276 yards and two touchdowns on 25 attempts. WR CJ Daniels was another key contributor, scoring a touchdown off of 129 receiving yards.
In almost any game, 37 points would all but guarantee a win. Not in this one. Buffalo fell just short of Fordham by a score of 40-37. Even though they lost, Buffalo's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 26 points per game (they're now ranked 84th in scoring overall).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had great games. One of the most active was QB Cole Snyder, who threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns on 30 attempts. WR Darrell Harding Jr. did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 15 receiving yards.
Looking ahead, Liberty shouldn't be too worried about this matchup, as the experts have them favored by 3.5 points. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
Liberty ought to be happy about their advantage in the spread: the team was a solid 5-3 when favored last season. While their fans probably aren't happy about it, betting on the team to lose was the smart play last year, and bettors who put $100 on that outcome every game finished the season up $1,712.12. On the other hand, Buffalo was 2-3 as the underdog last season.
