Buffalo vs. Western Michigan updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Buffalo vs. Western Michigan football game
The Western Michigan Broncos and the Buffalo Bulls are set to square off in a Mid-American matchup at noon ET Oct. 2 at UB Stadium. If the matchup is anything like the Broncos' 71-68 victory from their previous meeting in October of 2017, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
WMU strolled past the San Jose State Spartans with points to spare last week, taking the contest 23-3. No one had a standout game offensively for WMU, but they got scores from RB La'Darius Jefferson, WR Jaylen Hall, and WR Corey Crooms.
WMU's defense was a presence, as it embarrassed SJSU's offensive line to sack the quarterback eight times for a total loss of 30 yards. The heavy lifting was done by DT Ralph Holley and DE Ali Fayad, who each racked up 2.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, it was a tight game that could have gone either way, but Buffalo made off with a 35-34 win over the Old Dominion Monarchs last week. The Buffalo offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
The Broncos are the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.
WMU is now 3-1 while the Bulls sit at 2-2. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: WMU is stumbling into the matchup with the 220th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up nine on the season. Buffalo has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 209th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with eight on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
