Game Recap
The BYU Cougars fell to the South Florida Bulls 27-23 when the teams previously met two seasons ago; this time around, they exacted some revenge. The Cougars came out on top against South Florida by a score of 35-27 on Saturday.
The game started off well for BYU, whose offense put up 28 first-half points. South Florida wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 28-6 heading into the break. BYU coasted a bit in the second half, relying primarily on their first half lead, but they still walked away with the win.
BYU QB Baylor Romney was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 305 yards on 25 attempts. RB Tyler Allgeier also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
The losing side was boosted by RB Jaren Mangham, who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
The victory improved BYU's record to 4-0. The Bulls' loss pushed them down to 1-3.
The Cougars will take on the Utah State Aggies at 9 p.m. ET next Friday at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. Unlike BYU, Utah State will be limping in after taking a loss.
